#BookIllustrationOfTheDay is by Michael Foreman for “The Butterfly Who sang” from Terry Jones’ Fairy Tales (1981). Luminous colour and dynamic perspectives distinguish Foreman’s work in this wonderfully imaginative collection of new fairy tales from the Monty Python writer.

In times of hardship, closing libraries is not the answer. Libraries are the connectors of communities, a sanctuary of learning and a warm space to shelter in.

We are not alone. Councils around the country are trying to do this - at the same time as trying to get net-zero cities, reduce unemployment rates, and improve education.

You need a library that is local to do all of that. A £280k “saving” costs the economy £195 million. https://twitter.com/wylie_alan/status/1639881538912354304

Many people who are most affected by the closures can’t sign an online petition. Thanks @EveningExpress for sharing Charlotte’s story. As @AberdeenCC wants to become a @UNICEF child-friendly city, listening to children & removing barriers to access learning is key to that. https://twitter.com/eveningexpress/status/1640239774148567040
