@InertiaPi @stillawake @defendtheten The whole ‘libraries as community hubs’ thing has been hijacked by Cllrs/Politicians etc to hide/mask cuts.
They try and sell the concept to communities as ‘innovative’ and ‘customer/user focused’ when it’s often the opposite 🤷‍♀️

Councils don't understand that many libraries are community hubs already. A civic infrastructure in a fragmented society that is worth every penny, used by privileged and marginalised people across generations. @defendtheten https://twitter.com/stillawake/status/1384115300820389893

Looks like Bristol Labour are also looking to build 'community hubs' for libraries -- no promise of increasing investment from the cuts in funding they imposed, just like they haven't over the last five years.

No extra public toilets either.

Hey @marksandspencer can Colin and Cuthbert be besties? We’re bringing back a limited edition Cuthbert and want to donate profits to cancer charities including your partners @macmillancancer & ours @teenagecancer. Let’s raise money for charity, not lawyers #caterpillarsforcancer.
