A lot of campaigners had their say, after months of frustration with
the uselessness of government and Arts Council England (ACE). New ACE
libraries man Brian Ashley took it well.
But, given that he was not even due to start the job until two days
later, he was not able to voice the kind of commitments that we want.
But he promised an early response. And we will hold him to it!
