The Mayor’s  proposals could also see four of the city’s libraries close down in two years as the council looks to find £1.6m in the year 2018/19, something which prompted protests from library campaigners outside the meeting.  But the Mayor said tonight it his “not his intention to close any libraries” and said a new taskforce will explore all options of how to make the savings.
